Taiwan is Canada’s 5th largest trading partner in Asia, with over $7 billion per year in merchandise trade. Major Canadian exports to Taiwan include aerospace, IT, agriculture, seafood, and biotechnology. With this strong trade relationship, shipping to Taiwan from Canada continues to grow as businesses and individuals seek affordable and reliable options.
Canadian shippers rely on low-cost parcel delivery to Taiwan to connect with suppliers and customers. Thanks to Taiwan’s large English-speaking business community, expanding trade has never been easier.
The cheapest option for small personal shipments is Canada Post surface mail. While slower than air freight, it provides a cost-effective choice for individuals sending gifts or small parcels. This is a great service for individuals.
For shipments valued at CAD $2,000+, Canadian exporters must file an export declaration (B13A) through the CERS system. Restricted items require declarations regardless of value. Note that the value for export reporting does not include the shipping cost.
Best for individuals sending personal packages. Delivered by Chunghwa Post in Taiwan.

Canada Post packet and surface options are the most affordable, especially for small parcels. For businesses and larger packages, couriers are the best way to go. Economy air freight offers value for shipments up to around 200 kg. Ocean freight offers the lowest cost for large bulk orders, shipping several pallets and containers.
Air courier shipments usually arrive within 3 business days. Trackable Canada Post Air options are usually delivered within 2 weeks. Ocean freight can take between 1–2 months (door to door) depending on consolidation and sailing schedules.
Taiwan applies a 5% VAT on all imports. Most shipments under 2000 TWD (~$85 CAD) are duty-free if sent from an individual to another individual.
