Unlike pharmaceuticals, standard vitamins and supplements generally do not need a prescription or special government approval to buy in Canada. The importing country, however, may restrict them.
Yes, supplements can legally be exported from Canada. The buyer is responsible for import clearance in their own country, and the rules vary more than most buyers expect.

Seal oil omega-3 is a uniquely Canadian product, but the US Marine Mammal Protection Act bars importing and selling marine mammal products. In 2023, an Ontario health store pleaded guilty in a US court after shipping harp seal oil capsules to US buyers. The EU and UK also ban seal products.
In Canada, CBD is regulated under the Cannabis Act, not as a natural health product. It can only be exported by a Health Canada cannabis licence holder, with a permit for each shipment and for a scientific or medical purpose. Jetship cannot forward CBD products.
Melatonin is sold over the counter in Canada as a licensed natural health product. It is prescription-only in the UK, needs a prescription for most products in Australia, and is regulated as a medicine in parts of the EU. Check before you order, whatever the dose.
Protecting the potency of probiotics and liquid extracts
Most vitamins are stable at room temperature. Some of Canada's premium health products, especially live-culture probiotics, marine-based omega-3 liquids and organic bio-extracts, need temperature control to keep their potency. A package left on a hot tarmac can damage living cultures within hours.

Dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) is classified by IATA as a dangerous good, UN1845, Class 9. It needs specialized packaging that lets the gas escape, a Class 9 label and the net weight of dry ice on the label, which standard mail forwarding services cannot provide.
